What kind of group are you starting?

A social or workplace group

Give your regular players a shared place to find the next round, read event details and request to join. Your group sits within an appropriate organisation.

A touring group

Keep one group while playing at different courses. Set each event’s actual venue and use the host course’s booking arrangements.

A club subgroup

Women’s golf, juniors, coaching and other club sections belong under the existing club. Coordinate setup and administrator access with the club’s authorised administrator.

A group within a larger network

Choose the existing organisation when appropriate. If your network needs several groups of its own, start with the organisation pathway instead.

Have these details ready

How to get started

  1. Check whether it already exists

Search the app for your group, parent club or organisation so you can join or request the right access instead of creating a duplicate.

  2. Send the group request

Sign in and open Get started to request the group under the appropriate organisation. If you are unsure where it belongs, use assisted setup and explain your group.

  3. Confirm the organiser and access

The appropriate administrator reviews the request and arranges the correct role. Requesting a group does not grant authority over its organisation or a host course.

  4. Prepare the page and first event

Once authorised, check the profile and joining arrangements. Create an event with the actual venue and the correct response method.

  5. Invite people and keep it current

Share the group’s invitation or joining link. Review requests, maintain the programme and give members clear information when an occurrence changes.

Hosting a round is not the same as reserving the course.

Agree tee times and any restrictions with the venue. A visiting tour organiser cannot declare another club’s course unavailable simply by posting an event.

Once your group is running

Use the group-admin guide for membership and event management. Club-section organisers should also read the subgroup guide so the club calendar remains clear for everyone.

Common questions

Do I need a separate organisation for one group?

You may be able to use a suitable existing organisation. Describe who the group is for and RoundUp can help establish the right home.

Can our group run its own competition?

RoundUp supports organiser-run events and competitions within the app. Use the available event-management tools; do not assume results or bookings are transferred to Golf NZ.

Can someone else take over later?

Yes. Arrange access for the incoming administrator through an authorised administrator and use the handover checklist. Each person uses their own account.
